Eric - Guitarist
Interviewed by: Allison

So I am here with Bless the Fall, I am going to let him give a quick introduction.
Hi, I'm Eric Lambert I am the guitarist/vocalist in Bless the Fall.

So you guys are from Phoenix, how long have you been together?
We've been together as a whole for about 2 1/2 years. Ive been in the mix for about 2 years.

Are you happy with where your at right now?
Yeah totally we've had some bumps in the road, but all the guys are great and were having a good time.

How stoked are you guys to be doing Taste of Chaos?
Bro fest 08 is going to be awesome. We are excited because its a lot of different music then we are used to playing with. The bands are a little bit more.... I don't want to say radio, but radio metal. Its cool because its a new fan base. We are excited to reach out to new fans. Its going to be an incredible tour, the venues are spectacular and there are going to be tons of kids. We've never done an arena tour before.

So what else has been going on with you guys lately?
We have been writing our new record! We have about 6 songs written right now. We are planning on recording our record, we don't have a set date but it should be this summer. We are stoked on our new music, doing Taste of Chaos and Bamboozle. We are going to do a 2 week run with our buddies From First to Last, that's all we've been doing right now.

You guys have gone international, how was that?
That was incredible.. we all had a lot of fun. The kids are a lot different but they are still stoked on music. We went to the UK it was amazing, so much fun.

What is the craziest thing you've seen at a show?

Um, I don't know. Everyone always asks this questions and I know i've seen 1,000 crazy things. I have seen a kid throw up in another kids mouth before...that was pretty gross. It was in the crowd, I guess he was having a heat problem and he threw up in some kids face. Pretty gnarly, I gave him some water.

What is the one thing you cant live without on tour?
My phone, I have to stay connected. I probably couldn't go with out it, I can go with out my computer though. I lost my phone once the first day of tour before, I was so bummed couldn't talk to family or friends.

What carrier do you have?
I have Verizon

Hows that working out for you?
Really good, I used to have tmobile and I hated it so I switched. Verizon has way better coverage and I got a blackberry. I'm really stoked on it I don't even need my lap top anymore.

Whats your favorite Jolly Rancher flavor?
I'm torn. I used to like apple, but cherry has grown on me over the years. I'm going to have to go with cherry. It doesn't taste anything like cherries, its kinda tangy but sweet.

What are your goals for 08?
Put out a great CD. That is what we want to do right now, reach out to kids. We put our heart and soul into what we've been writing lately and I think its going to show in the music. Our biggest goal is to put out something that we are completely satisfied with. From our last record, half the record we were happy with and the other half were old songs and we weren't satisfied with the record as a whole. That is our biggest goal for 08.

So how does it feel to be playing sold out shows?
It is the most exciting feeling in the world, I know every band says they are so thankful for the fans. After everything we've been through we would be no where with out them and seeing kids there whether they are singing or just listening is incredible. I cant even explain it.

But on a last note....
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to come to this website, thanks for helping to promote it!
Thanks Eric, see you guys soon

A major standout from this summer’s stellar Van’s Warped Tour is Arizona’s Blessthefall. Their incendiary set, which included their own “wall of death” mosh pit that drove audiences into a complete frenzy, won over new fans on a daily basis, leaving them a sweaty, exhausted mess.

Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman recently said, "Blessthefall are one of the rising stars of this year's tour. Their crowds increased every single day.”

As the band’s profile skyrocketed over the summer, fans voted them into the top spot in the Energizer “Demand It” contest in Phoenix, Virginia Beach and Montreal, earning Blessthefall longer sets in each city. Stalwarts of the Smartpunk stage, this summer saw the debut of their “Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad” video, enjoying a solid two-month run on MTV’s “Headbangers Ball” and Fuse’s “Uranium.”

The Myspace “Featured Artist” in April, the band’s stats have risen through the roof lately with nearly 1 million plays of their video; their current friend count is nearly at 105,000 with over 2 million profile views. Indeed Blessthefall is poised to build on their Warped Tour momentum as they prepare to hit the road this fall with Escape the Fate, before joining Silverstein overseas at the end of the year.

I had a chance to sit down with Craig and Jared before their kick off show at the Glasshouse in Pomona for the Black on Black Tour with Escape The Fate. They talked about their video Guys like you and the Wall of Death. Super nice guys and a very talented band. Be sure to check them out!

Gimme a brief history on Blessthefall.
Craig: Well, we started 2 years ago, played a bunch of local shows, thought we were the raddest dudes in the world, played a couple high school battle of the bands, thought we were even radder. The shows started getting bigger and bigger and more kids started coming. Our old guitarist decided to go to college instead of sticking with the band. We found our new guitarist, who is like our little brother now and started taking the band a little more seriously. Then about a year ago we actually started taking it really seriously and wanted to make it a career. We started going out on the road and then the rest is pretty much history

Tell me about the song and video for "Guys like You"
Craig: Well the song itself is about a woman in my life that I'm really close with being abused and raped and stuff like that. So I kinda wanted to touch on that subject, but not too much to make the video controversial. I would have liked to see more stuff in it, like actual beatings and stuff just so people actually got it. That's pretty much what the songs about. We gave the directors our ideas and they came up with a set, the little shack and stuff. It pretty much depicts that story a little bit to people that actually understand it and listen to the lyrics.

Any favorites songs from the record?
Jared: I personally like "Guys like you". It has a mix of all our influences and all our styles come together in that song. Its a really good song.

Craig: I would definitely have to agree. I love playing "Guys like you" live the most. For everyone that's gonna be on the black on black tour, I think a new song I'm gonna be stoked to play live is an old one called "Black Rose Dying" cause we decided this tour is gonna be the tour that we play that song and then we're gonna retire it. So if anybody wants to hear that song come to the tour cause its gonna be retired after this tour. But we changed the break down in it last night, so that's why I'm pretty stoked to play it. Its something new and we always get stoked on new things. As far as the CD goes, I'd have to say "With eyes wide shut" would probably have to be my favorite song on the record, just cause its more personal to me.

Any stories from this years Warped Tour?
Craig: Anthony Green wore a dress which was ridiculous... he's all proud about it and that's basically all that happened. Anthony Green is an artist. He's not a singer of a band, he's an "Artist". I respect that guy. But as far as crazy crazy story goes...like the whole band when we're together there's not really too many crazy stories....other then having the sickest Wall of Death I've ever seen in Montreal! Or the last day of Warped Tour, when we all pretty much got down in the Wall Of Death. I stood in the front of the crowd and ran with them and that was pretty much the craziest moment of the whole tour for me.

Are we gonna see the Wall Of Death tonight?
Craig: I wanted to but Eric told me not too. Eric Lamberg, Guitarist of Blessthefall does not want the wall of death to happen on the Black on Black Tour. Do not blame anyone else in the band, other then Eric

I heard you got injured on the first day of the video shoot?
Craig: Yeah! Eric knocked out my too front teeth. You know, you'd think a guy that likes to knock out teeth would want to see a Wall of Death every night, but no... He knocks out teeth for a living

Any words for kids struggling with their faith?
Craig: Everyone's just gotta understand it gets really really bad before it gets really really good. I mean if your having the shittiest time of your life ever, just know that something good is around the corner, so you just gotta wait it out. Stay true to yourself, cause everything happens for a reason in life, stay positive and things will get better.
