Interview by: Allison

Elan Wright - Guitar/Back up Vocals
Andrew De Torres- Vocals

If you were stranded on an island what 5 things besides food and water would you want with you?
Elan-
1. An acoustic guitar because I need to play music somehow
2. A nice lady who wont ever be mean to me, I need the affection
3. An extensive library of various books because I need to read, that counts as one thing
4. I would also like to have a stacked ipod full to the brim, the biggest you can get
5. A laptop with all the cords, solar powered duh. If i get stranded on an island its going to be in the near future and pretty soon they are going to come up with that stuff so it wont even be an issue. They are going to make portable, cordless energy. Think about it.

So tell me a little about your guys new EP "Punch Your Lights Out" ..
Andrew- The Ep we are putting out hits stores the 29th (January). Its already been on itunes for a while. They are actually songs we recorded a while ago we just never had the opportunity to release. We didnt know how to do it ourselves so to finally be in stores and stuff, its pretty ballin.

Elan- We recorded those songs 3 years ago though. When we first started touring each of us burned 50 copies and made our own designs, spray painted them and thats how we sold these songs for the first time. It was hard to distrubute to the masses because we could only sell it at shows when we toured. So this is releasing those songs to a more public audience.

So your song "Sparkle Baby Shine" features Lizzie Huffman, tell me about that collaboration.
Elan- You want to know about Lizzie Huffman?? AMAZING. Increadibly talented girl, shes from Seattle I grew up with her and i've known the family since I was a baby. She has done solo work, and shes in a band called Man in the Blue Van they are a local Seattle jam band, really sweet dudes.

Andrew- She comes from a very musically inclined family .

Elan- Her brother is the bassist for Gatsbys American Dream, the whole family really has a lot going for them musically.

What are you most looking forward to this tour? (PAC SUN tour with The Audition, Envy on the Coast, and Another Day Late)
Andrew- For me, its just spending time with all the guys we are on tour with. Its been such a fun expierence, we've toured with Envy before we were so excited when we go to tour with them again. Hanging out with The Audition and the Another Day Late guys has been so much fun. Its so cool that we have 3 more weeks of this. Im really excited to hit up the East Coast again I love New York. It's my favorite.

Elan- For me its kind of weird and doesn't really make much sense unless your a weirdo like me but this is the first tour we are driving though Seattle which is where we are from. We have a date in the middle of tour. The reason im excited about this is because every time I go on tour I, 1- feel like I left something at home and 2- feel like I brought some stuff that I dont need. I can drop off all that stuff and pick up the stuff that I want, so its more pleasureable.

How did the band name come about?
Elan- Its really really uninteresting

Andrew- Theres no answer to that, it was just like, which was the one that least sucked.

Elan- It was like lets write a bunch of names down on a piece of paper and pick which one is the least dumb, something that we were not gong to look back at and be like this is dumb lets change it. Its 2 words put together that kind of work, and you can interpret it how you want.

Do you guys have any before show rituals?
Andrew- I get really impatient at shows so im constantly walking around everywhere meeting people. I dont really have any rituals. I always get really nervous, up until I get on stage I get butterflies. The moment I hit stage I turn into an entirely different person, I'm really shy I dont know what happens.

Elan- Theres definetly a transformation when you hit the stage espically when the crowd is giving you the energy back. It really pumps you up to keep rockin. But ritual wise, I cant think of anything. Like Andrew said, I pace. Im a pacer I get nervous before every show like him, but when we start playing it immedietly goes away.

Any last words?
Elan- Yeah, we are releasing our first full length album by summer, hopefully July-ish. Its tentative right now, but its a really really awesome piece of work we are thrilled about it. We are excited to see what people have to say or think about it. So yeah check it out, keep your eyes peeled for it and look for us when we come to your town. Come have fun with us thats what we're about you know.
