The Night Marchers | Tijuana Knife Fight | Fast Dragon

You know the old saying "If you love something set it free, and if it doesn't come back it was never meant to be." Well ladies and gentlemen, I had set Speedo (formerly of rocket from the crypt) free and dammit, it was meant to be. Sunday night in Long Beach at Alex's Bar, I was reunited with a familiar sound and it was called The Night Marchers.
At the beginning of the set John Reis aka Speedo...the lead singer and guitarist gave a disclaimer. Something regarding to this will be the longest hour of our lives. Then reasurred the crowd that we will be tapping our toes by the end. Well Mr. Reis I am humbled to tell you that you were terribly wrong. For myself I was impressed after hearing the first song and then by the third I was already dancing.
This was only The Night Marchers third show, and of course the performance was nothing compaired to Rocket From the Crypt. Please don't compare them, The Night Marchers for me is a new life in itself. What I saw was a group of talented musicians, playing great songs, to a crowd of loyal fans. I want more, I didn't get to hear enough. Before leaving the bar I went searching for a CD to buy. I was told the album will be out April 12th. Next time I see The Night Marchers I want to be up front singing every word. I can't wait to share my new relationship with my family. Thank you John Reis. |
